What Fruits Juices are Good for Diabetics


Most of the doctors would not recommend fruit juice for diabetics. Since fruit juices are rich in fructose and may immediately spike up your blood sugar levels, they may be harmful for diabetics. For this reason, diabetics should ideally consume really small amounts of fruit juices, if any. Some juices might be absorbed by the body much quicker than the others, causing an instant spike in blood sugar levels. This is dangerous for those who have high blood sugar.

You need to avoid eating sweets and carbohydrates, because they get converted into glucose effortlessly and increase the blood sugar (glucose) level. You need to, rather, have fresh fruits and vegetables because they contain less amounts of carbohydrates and therefore are rich in fibers and vitamins that are required by the body. Apple Juice

Apple juice is another healthy alternative with regards to choosing fresh 100 percent fruit juice for diabetics.  Although apple juice includes a lower glycemic index than orange juice (6 in contrast to 9, respectively), it provides less vitamin C, A, B1 and potassium, but it's also higher in manganese.

Grape Juice

Although grape juice has got the highest amount of sugar of the three juices described (35 g per 8 fl oz. cup), its index list remains at a low to medium effect of 9. Aside from the fact that grape juice is rich in vitamin C, thiamine, riboflavin and magnesium, it is also packed with chromium.

Orange Juice

Orange juice is really a nutritious way for a diabetic to begin his day. Orange juice is packed with vitamin C (anti-inflammatory), vitamin A, vitamin B1 (co-enzyme necessary for wind turbine), folic acid (essential for red blood cells) and potassium (essential in muscle contraction).
